纳音Nayin: Metal of the Sword's Edge
Each pair of pillars shares one of 30 Nayin, or "sound" elements. Ren Shen belongs to Metal of the Sword's Edge, pictured as the edge of a sword: sharp, decisive, needs careful handling. Nayin is an older layer of Chinese astrology and is read as a background image, not as your Day Master's element.

In BaZi the day branch is the spouse palace. For Ren Shen it holds the Monkey, which traditionally harmonises with the Snake (six harmony) and the Rat and Dragon (three harmony), and clashes with the Tiger.
The most harmonious day pillar for Ren Shen is Ding Si (丁巳): its stem combines with yours and its branch forms a six-harmony pair (天合地合). The most challenging are Bing Yin (丙寅) and Wu Yin (戊寅): stem against stem and branch against branch (天克地冲). Other pillars in your chart matter more than this single pairing.
